The storyline of the game is quite strange and humorous. One night, while our mischievous Spider-Man is searching for Venom, he accidentally finds himself at the Oscorp laboratory, where they engage in a lengthy battle. After a fierce fight, Venom is defeated and falls to the ground. At that moment, our crazy Spidey mocks Venom and receives a powerful punch in return. He is then thrown to the top floor of the laboratory, where he encounters his long-time enemy: Mysterio! After a while, our witty Spidey is defeated by his two enemies and is thrown towards a strange glowing glass. An explosion occurs, and when he regains consciousness, he finds himself in space, far from Earth. At that moment, a creature with golden horns and green eyes approaches him and coldly says: "Thanks for clearing the way!" Suddenly, Spidey finds himself on top of the Empire State Building. The next day, he returns to the laboratory and discovers that S.H.I.E.L.D has established a base there, heavily guarded. Out of curiosity, he boards a S.H.I.E.L.D aircraft and sees Nick Fury more agitated than ever. Fury explains that due to Spidey's actions the previous night, a powerful energy source has been released, attracting many seekers. Just then, the same golden-horned creature arrives with thousands of beings, and our battle begins.

Eventually, the Avengers join our group to capture Loki, Thor's brother, from Earth. The game's narrative is a blend of the Avengers Assemble movie and a new story. Characters like Deadpool appear, and we get to know him better through the game. The question arises: is Deadpool a hero? Not at all; our beloved Deadpool sees this chaos as the perfect opportunity to steal and eliminate Mister Sinister! In this version, the story and character count have significantly expanded, allowing for a rich narrative. The presence of many beloved characters among our heroes is delightful, as everyone can explore with their favorite hero in their unique style. Another interesting aspect is the game's environment. According to TT Games, the project for this game began in 2011, as the game world is incredibly vast. In The Amazing Spider-Man, we saw Spidey could only roam in Manhattan, but in this version, all three islands of New York City are included, making the game map about three times larger than Amazing and about 1.5 times bigger than Web of Shadows. We also no longer see people running away; everything is calm, allowing us to explore the city like a true hero. The game features nearly 100 playable characters, including teams from the Avengers, X-Men, and other famous Marvel superhero groups.

The gameplay remains consistent with previous iterations. However, the HUD has changed, and the health panel is now percentage-based. Additionally, the game introduces an upgrade system. A new customization system allows players to alter the appearance of both default and main characters. Vehicles can still be used, but unlike previous versions, players must construct their own vehicles. In this version, unlike Batman 2, day and night cycles and different seasons exist. The handling system has also been made more natural. In free-roaming mode, players can play solo without needing a partner. Each hero's abilities significantly impact gameplay. For instance, Spidey can easily climb buildings and use his web-slinging mechanics. Some heroes also have normal forms; for example, Iron Man can transform into Tony Stark and explore the city with his cars or even shop and eat. This feature has been added to LEGO games for the first time. Additionally, respect plays a role in the game. The action gameplay hasn't changed much, but many good elements have been added, although it can never surpass GTA V in terms of gameplay. TT Games does not aim for that. They state that they do not want to diminish the gameplay experience or introduce elements that stray from their primary goal, but progress is essential to avoid regression.
