Using AdShield with Other VPN Applications

Partially yes. Due to system limitations, you can only use Yandex Browser with the AdShield extension (Enhanced Browsing) if you wish to continue using AdShield while using another VPN application.

With our Enhanced Browsing extension, your browser can block more ads flawlessly, including pre-roll video ads and pop-up ads. To fully block ads, you will need Yandex Browser with AdShield's Enhanced Browsing feature.

  2. Type chrome://flags, search for async DNS resolver (#enable-async-dns), and choose disabled in the drop-down menu (skip for Chrome 89 or newer versions).

Understanding AdShield

AdShield is NOT a VPN proxy that connects to remote servers to mask your IP address. Your IP address remains the same when AdShield is activated. We use a VPN that connects to AdShield itself to identify ads and other unwanted content. All interception is processed locally. The VPN here is merely a solution that allows AdShield to block ads device-wide without root privileges. IT IS NOT A PROXY.
