Drums Engineer is a powerful application designed for drum composition, enabling users to create unique drum beats effortlessly. You can save your composed beats as MIDI files for seamless integration with your favorite DAW software.

Creating Drum Beats

There are two primary methods to create drum beats:

• Manual: Check notes for each drum instrument.


• Automatic: Press COMPOSE and let the algorithm generate a drum groove or fill for you.

App Layout

Upon opening the app, you will find three main panes:

1. INSTRUMENTS CONTROL: Manage each instrument with the following options:
   
   
   
   • Instrument Name: Click to hear a sound sample.
   
   
   • ON/OFF Switch: Toggle the instrument on or off.
   
   
   • Select Checkbox: Choose instruments for composition or editing.
   
   
   
   


2. BEATS: Customize the number of notes for each instrument. The sound is activated when the checkbox is checked.
   
   
   
   • Adjust the number of notes in Settings.
   
   
   • Create beats by checking or unchecking the boxes.
   
   
   
   


3. APP CONTROL: Access essential controls for the app:
   
   
   
   • ON/OFF Switch: Toggle all instruments on or off.
   
   
   • Select Checkbox: Choose all instruments at once.
   
   
   • MODE: Select between drum groove or drum fill for composition.
   
   
   • COMPOSE Button: Generate a drum groove or fill based on selected instruments.
   
   
   • Tempo: Adjust the tempo in beats per minute.
   
   
   • PLAY Button: Play or stop the drum beat.
   
   
   
   

Menu Options

• New: Create a new drum template.


• Open: Open a saved drum text file.


• Save: Save current drum beats as MIDI and text files.


• Save As: Save current drum beats with a specified name.


• Clear All: Remove all instruments.


• Clear Selected: Remove only selected instruments.


• Shift Left: Move selected instruments one position to the left.


• Shift Right: Move selected instruments one position to the right.


• Start/Stop AUTO MODE: Enable or disable AUTO MODE for continuous play and recomposition.


• Settings: Access app settings.


• Help: Open the app manual.


• Facebook Page: Visit the app's Facebook page.


• Exit: Close the app.

Settings

• Notes Number: Select between 1 and 64 notes.


• INSTRUMENTS: Choose which instruments to include.


• INSTRUMENTS VOLUME: Set individual instrument volumes.


• Meter Signature: Define the meter signature (nominator and denominator).


• Load Last Project: Automatically load the last project on app startup.


• Number of Cycles in AUTO MODE: Set how many times the drum beat plays before recomposition.


• Keep Screen On: Prevent the screen from sleeping while the app is active.


• Play Melody in Background: Allow beats to play in the background while adjusting volumes.
