FAQ/Tips

  1. How do I use the widget?

Event Flow is a widget, so you need to place it on your homescreen from your widget list. The procedure varies slightly depending on the Android version and device model. Generally, long press on an empty space on your homescreen, select the "Widgets" option, and drag the desired widget to the homescreen.

  2. The widget is not updating.

This may be due to battery saving settings on your device that prevent the widget from updating. Ensure your device's app and battery settings allow the widget to operate. More info can be found here.

  3. Why aren't reminders available?

Currently, Google has not made reminders available for third-party apps. We are monitoring this situation for any changes.

  4. My Outlook/Exchange calendar isn't showing up.

If you're using the Outlook Android app, go to the app's settings, select your account, and ensure "Sync calendars" is active. If not, try adding your Outlook/Exchange account in your device's Settings > Accounts, and access those calendars via the Google Calendar app.

  5. My Birthdays/Contacts/Other calendar is not showing up or synchronizing.

The widget only reads the local calendar database on your device. If synchronization issues arise, refreshing may help. Go to Settings > Accounts > Select your account > Account sync and refresh "Calendar" and "Contacts." Then, open Google Calendar, go to the side menu, and adjust the affected calendars.

  6. How do I set up the widget to look like in the screenshots?

Most screenshots display two widgets: the Calendar Widget at the top, resized to occupy one row, and the Agenda Widget below, without the header (configured in the agenda settings). Choose your preferred colors to match the style.

  7. I would like to select an exact color for one of the options.

In the color picker, tap the center circle displaying the color to enter the Hexadecimal code for your desired color (include the alpha component: 0x00 for transparent, 0xFF for solid color). You can also copy/paste this code.

Permissions

We prefer apps that limit their permission requests. Here’s what we need and why:

  • Calendar: Required to read your calendar events. This permission is mandatory for the widget to function.

  • Location: Optional for displaying the weather forecast for your location. You can choose not to grant this permission or manually select a location for the forecast.

We hope you enjoy Event Flow! If you have any questions, issues, or just want to get in touch, feel free to email us at [email protected].
