Overview of the Application

This application features a robust UPnP and HTTP server, along with a fully functional UPnP client. The server operates in the background as a long-running service, allowing you to use other applications simultaneously.

Media Distribution

By default, the server distributes all video, photo, music, and eBook files (including .pdf) to clients over the local Wi-Fi network and, if configured, over the Internet.

Accessing Media Files

You can access your media files using standard UPnP clients on the Wi-Fi network or your favorite web browser. This allows you to enjoy videos, music, photos, and PDFs seamlessly.

UPnP Client Functionality

The integrated UPnP client supports all types of Android files. For enhanced media playback, you can also utilize VLC to stream video or audio files remotely via UPnP.

File Sharing Across Devices

With this application, you can share files exported from your Android device with:

Commenting and Interaction

When using a web browser as a client, you can write comments with emoticons on any page. Only the comment's author and administrators can delete comments. Files can be categorized for easier distribution to specific users, allowing for detailed comments on photos, videos, and more.

File Playback Features

You can select multiple files of the same type to play. The application supports:

• Videos: HTML5 video support with formats like webm and 3gp, while mp4 support may vary by device.


• Audio: HTML5 audio playback, though some formats may not be supported.


• Images: All images are displayed correctly on the web page.


• PDFs: Properly supported in the eBook category.

Accessing Existing UPnP Servers

If you already have a UPnP server, you can use this client to access it easily. Additionally, TVs with Wi-Fi adapters (potentially through a DVD reader) can utilize the UPnP server for viewing videos and photos. If you own an Android TV device, you can run the server and use the client directly on your TV, facilitating full file exchange between devices.

HTTP Server Configuration

The HTTP server can be accessed over the Internet from your Wi-Fi network by configuring an external port number. If you provide a non-null value, the application attempts to configure your Internet Gateway dynamically using UPnP. Otherwise, manual configuration is required.

You can also define usernames and passwords to restrict access to specific files over HTTP and limit Internet access. All passwords are encrypted during transmission.

Dynamic Configuration

The configuration is dynamic; however, it is advisable to override the default server name, font size, and set up usernames and passwords for Internet use before going live.

The application defaults to the system language, but you can switch to any supported language as all user interfaces are dynamically configured, including the web page.

To read eBooks over Wi-Fi, you will need an additional product such as:

Wi-Fi Hotspot Control

You can start and stop a Wi-Fi hotspot by clicking the icon in the top right corner of the server window, although this feature may not work on all devices and requires the WRITE_SETTINGS permission. Clicking the same icon on other devices allows you to connect to a Wi-Fi network dynamically, with the password required only for the first connection.
