Performance and Usability
The server is fully integrated within the app itself, ensuring optimal performance on Android devices. Advanced features such as UTF8
, MDTM
, and MFMT
are implemented, although the underlying file system must support them.
Bonjour/DNS-SD Support
This feature is particularly useful if the client operating system and its file manager also support these protocols. As soon as you start the FTP server on your Android device, it will be discoverable in the network folder of your desktop.
Automatic Startup
Many users requested the ability to automatically start the server when the Android device is powered on. We found it more practical to initiate the server when connected to specific Wi-Fi networks, making it convenient, for example, when you arrive home. Additionally, we have integrated support for Tasker or Locale, allowing users to script custom use cases easily.
Logical Settings
Flexible settings are available, such as enabling anonymous login and configuring chroot
and port options. We accommodate various user scenarios, including running the server while tethering or via Ethernet cable.
Design and Interface
The design adheres to official guidelines, ensuring that the interface and logos look great on your device. We prioritize ease of control, utilizing notifications or widgets as necessary.
Open Source Information
The FTP Server is open-source software released under the GPL v3 license.
