We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the Periscope community for sharing your unique perspectives with the world over the past five years. Your dedication and passion have transformed Periscope into a vibrant platform where real-time events unfold, fostering dynamic communities and enriching the app's experience.

As we transition, we want to inform you that the Periscope mobile app will be officially discontinued on March 31, 2021. However, the essence of live video will continue to thrive as an integral component of conversations on Twitter.

What You Can Do Before the Transition

Until the discontinuation date, you can:

  • Instantly share your live videos to Twitter and other social networks.

  • Download your broadcasts from periscope.tv.

  • Give and receive Super Hearts to support your favorite broadcasters before the app is retired.

Moving Forward with Twitter Live

Periscope users will have the opportunity to transition to Twitter Live for broadcasting. Furthermore, brands, publishers, and creators can go live on Twitter using the Twitter Media Studio. This ensures that the spirit of live broadcasting continues seamlessly.

Additionally, users will still be able to create broadcasts programmatically through the Periscope public API, which will be integrated into the Twitter API in 2021.

Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey

Your contributions have made Periscope a remarkable platform, and we are excited to see how you will continue to engage and inspire on Twitter. Thank you for your support and for being an essential part of our community!
