Latest Update: Version 1.1.4

The recent update of Pixel Animator introduces two powerful pixel art tools that enhance your experience:

  • Shape Tool: Select the tool, choose your desired shape type, and touch the screen to create vertices for your shape. Supported shapes include:

    • Circle

    • Rectangle

    • Line

    • Triangle

  • Transform Tool: Click the tool to adjust the selected area. After selection, click the OK button in the tip window. You can then drag to move, scale, or rotate the selection. Don't forget to click OK when you're done!

Another significant change in the new Pixel Animator is the method for adding GIF frames. The frame number will only appear after a GIF frame is added, addressing confusion for newcomers. In the full version, you can add unlimited frames to a GIF, while the free version allows up to 15 frames.

Key Features

  1. Create pixel art from scratch or based on an existing photo or cartoon.

  2. Adjust the next GIF frame based on the previous image, saving you time.

  3. Export your animation in GIF format, compatible with all browsers on both PC and mobile platforms.

  4. Edit existing GIF files with ease.

  5. Share your GIF pixel animations with friends.

Helpful Tips

The Paint Bucket tool is incredibly useful for changing the color of lines or filling closed areas with new colors.

Simple Tutorial

To create a GIF with Pixel Animator, familiarize yourself with these two essential concepts:

  1. Current Button: The current button is indicated by a blinking color that alternates between normal and red. The default current button is the pencil, but you can change it by clicking any button on the right panel.

  2. GIF Frame: A GIF animation consists of multiple single images known as frames. Click the “add” button to create a new frame, or the “minus” button to delete the current one. Frame colors indicate their status: red means added, green indicates the current frame, and gray shows frames that can be added but are not yet included. In the free version, you can add up to 10 frames.

Frame rate determines the speed of your GIF animation; a higher frame rate results in quicker animations.
