Rename Configuration

Creating your own rename configuration involves two main steps:

1. Select Name Format

You can choose from a variety of units to build your new name format. These units can be customized and arranged in the order you prefer:

• Original Name: Includes the file's initial name, serving as the foundation for every configuration.


• Parent Name: Adds the name of the parent folder.


• Indexing: Incorporates an auto-incremented index with options for starting point, step, and zero padding.


• Text: Allows you to add custom text.


• Date & Time: Inserts the file's last modified date and time in a fully configurable format.


• EXIF Data: Extracts EXIF data from images for inclusion in the file name.


• Audio Metadata: Pulls audio metadata from audio files to add to the file name.


• Random Text: Generates random text with options for length and character type.

2. Apply Modifiers (Optional)

Once you have built your name format, you can apply a set of optional modifiers:

• Change Case: Modify the name to lower, upper, sentence, or camel case.


• Change Extension: Alter or remove the file extension.


• Add Character at Position: Insert characters/words at a specified position.


• Trim Whitespaces: Remove whitespaces from the start, end, or all occurrences.


• Remove Character(s): Eliminate selected characters/words from the name.


• Remove Multiple Characters: Remove several characters/words from the name, separated by commas.


• Remove Characters by Type: Delete all numbers, letters, non-numbers, or non-letters.


• Remove Characters at Position: Remove a specified number of characters from a chosen position.


• Remove Characters by Regex: Eliminate characters that match a regular expression.


• Replace Characters: Substitute all occurrences of a target character with desired text.


• Replace Characters by Regex: Replace all occurrences based on a regular expression match.
