The Impact of the Coronavirus on Education



In late 1998, the outbreak of the Coronavirus led to a worldwide quarantine, resulting in the closure of all public places and businesses. Schools were not exempt from this fate, remaining closed for several months. This prolonged shutdown significantly interrupted the educational process for students, preventing them from engaging in their studies.



Due to the ongoing nature of the pandemic and the absence of definitive treatments and vaccines, reopening schools became increasingly challenging. This situation necessitated the exploration of alternative methods to continue education.

Introduction of the Shad System



In response to these challenges, the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with Hamrah Aval, launched a virtual education system called "Shad". Shad, which stands for Student Education Network, is available in two formats: a mobile application and a website.

Class Structure and Attendance



The Shad System is designed to replicate a traditional classroom environment, albeit online. Students are expected to attend classes at scheduled times, which are automatically defined by their school and teachers. Once logged in, students are enrolled in their respective classes without needing to perform additional actions.



While students connect with their peers and educators during online classes, teachers have enhanced access, allowing them to set up video classes—an option not available to students.
