How It Works

The composition process is powered by a sophisticated algorithm that harmoniously blends melodies across various instruments, including:

Once your song is composed, you can easily listen to it and save it as a MIDI file. This feature allows you to generate song ideas that you can further develop and enhance in your music production.

Full Version Features

The full version of the app includes a variety of powerful features:

• Edit instrument notes and drums


• Select song tonality


• Utilize different song sections (Intro, Verse, Pre-Chorus, Chorus, Bridge, Outro, and 4 additional sections)


• Change song section length and rearrange sections


• Modify song elements' root and scale type (major, minor, pentatonic, blues, chromatic, etc.)


• Recompose sections and instruments


• Save songs as MIDI and XML files


• Open saved songs from XML files


• Control composing parameters (melody phrasing, harmony rhythm, preferred note lengths)


• Activate swing mode


• Write lyrics with the app's assistance for prosody and melody fit

How to Use Song Engineer

1. Select song tonality using the TONALITY menu.


2. Optionally, change the song structure using the three dots button on the left side of each song element.


3. Modify elements (Verse, Chorus, etc.) scale root and type (major, minor, etc.), and length (in bars). Only the first occurrence of each element has unlocked controls.


4. Press COMPOSE.


5. Listen to your composed song featuring five instruments: lead (vocal), guitar, bass, harmony (piano), and drums.


6. Press PLAY to listen and adjust the song tempo.


7. Edit instrument notes and drums through the Element Menu - Edit element.


8. Press SAVE to save the song in MIDI format, stored in the [sdcard]/SongEngineer folder.
