  • LESS WIFI USAGE: With Video & TV Cast, only the LG TV loads the video during casting, while Miracast routes all videos through your phone.

  • DEVICE SUPPORT: Video & TV Cast is compatible with all Android devices, whereas Miracast is not.

Important Notes for App Usage


With Video & TV Cast, you can easily browse the web and stream any web video, online movie, livestream, or live TV show on your LG Smart TV. Simply navigate to your favorite website and send the embedded video to your LG TV with just a single tap. The discovered video will appear below the browser, and tapping the video link will send it to your LG TV immediately.


  1. To enable video casting, open the LG App Store (LG Smart World / LG Content Store) on your TV, search for 'TV Cast', and install the free companion app.

  2. To connect, scan the QR Code shown on your TV or enter the IP Address of your Android device using the number pad and the up/down/left/right keys or scroll wheel on your TV remote.

Unsupported Videos


Note that the following video types are NOT SUPPORTED:



  • Third-party apps

  • Flash videos

  • Google Play movies

  • Netflix

  • Amazon

  • HBO

  • Other DRM protected videos

Testing and Support
