Do I Need to Root My Device?


Most features do not require root access. However:



  • 🔷 To connect using WPS, your phone must be rooted on Android 9 or newer. For Android 5 to 8, no root is needed.

  • 🔷 To obtain the serial number of an access point, root access is required on all Android versions.

  • 🔷 Checking WPS lock also requires root access on all Android versions.

Please Note:



  • WiFi Warden is not a hacking tool. Hacking is illegal.

  • To find the nearest shared hotspots for a new region for the first time, you need an internet connection.

  • WPS connection may not work on all routers due to router settings, not WiFi Warden.

  • To connect with WPS, the access point must have WPS enabled. These are marked with "WPS" in red.

  • From Android 6 (Marshmallow), location permission is required to display nearby Wi-Fi networks. More information can be found here.

  • Please refrain from requesting additional WPS PINs; they will be added in future updates if available.

  • To view channel bandwidth, you need Android 6 (Marshmallow) or higher.

  • Increased security guidelines are currently available for Asus, TP-Link, D-Link, and Zyxel routers.

  • Using the root method is recommended for testing null PINs.

  • Distance to the router is calculated using the Free-space path loss formula; this is an approximate value.

  • In-app purchases are only for removing ads; all features are available for free.

  • WPS PIN connections without root may not work on some LG and Huawei devices due to software issues.

  • Some Samsung devices may encrypt real passwords; for decryption methods, please consult online resources.

  • Some tools in this application, especially WPS Connection, are developed for testing and educational purposes. Use at your own risk; the developer is not responsible for misuse.
