Shattered Pixel Dungeon is a traditional roguelike dungeon crawler RPG that is easy to pick up but challenging to master. Each playthrough presents a unique challenge, featuring five distinct heroes, randomized levels, diverse enemies, and hundreds of items to discover and utilize. With updates rolling out every two to three months, players can always look forward to new content!

In ShatteredPD, you can select from five playable heroes, each with unique mechanics and gameplay styles:



  • Warrior: A durable hero that excels in close combat.

  • Duelist: A deadly fighter with high agility.

  • Mage: An arcane master capable of devastating spells.

  • Rogue: A stealthy character who uses the terrain to their advantage.

  • Huntress: A skilled markswoman with ranged capabilities.


As you delve deeper into the dungeon, you will earn points to spend on talents, choose a subclass, and unlock powerful late-game abilities. Transform the Duelist into a dual-wielding Champion, the Mage into a soul-sucking Warlock, or the Huntress into a tanky Warden, among countless other possibilities!

Explore the Dungeon


The dungeon in ShatteredPD is procedurally generated, offering random layouts, room types, items, traps, and enemies. Each game presents a fresh experience where you can find equipment and collect or craft consumable items to enhance your abilities.


As you progress, you will discover equipment that can be enchanted, upgraded, and augmented, allowing you to outfit your hero strategically. Set your foes ablaze with enchanted weapons, wade through enemies with upgraded armor, or gain powerful benefits from various wands, rings, and magical artifacts.

Succeed or Die Trying


The dungeon is teeming with enemies, traps, and hazards, including bosses eager to end your run! Face off against hostile wildlife in the sewers, mad thieves in the prison, and occult servants in the fallen dwarven city, with even greater threats lurking below.


While the challenges can be daunting, don’t lose hope! Winning may not come on your first attempt, but there are numerous tricks and strategies to uncover on your journey to your first victory.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon is an open-source game inspired by the original Pixel Dungeon created by Watabou, which was first released in late 2012. Launched as a rebalancing project in 2014, it has evolved into a standalone game over the past eight years!
