“Now the trumpet summons us again, not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are – but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle...”

– President John F. Kennedy

History in the Making

Twilight Struggle places players at the heart of the Cold War, a political and economic conflict between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R that lasted five decades from the 1950s to the 1990s. Created by the award-winning designers Ananda Gupta and Jason Matthews, players take control of one of these two modern superpowers, striving to expand their influence globally through political maneuvers and coup attempts. However, be cautious—triggering a nuclear war means game over!

Card Based Events

The event cards featured in the game are inspired by real historical occurrences from the Cold War period. By playing these events, players exert their superpower's influence while trying to secure allies and regional dominance across the globe. Experience the early days of De-Stalinization, navigate through the Cuban Missile Crisis, and engage in the Vietnam War, all while immersing yourself in the actual events that shaped the rivalry between these two superpowers!
