The description of FolderMount [ROOT]
ROOT Requirement
ROOT access is necessary for the app to function. Without it, the application will not launch. If you encounter any issues, please use the EMAIL DEVELOPER link available in the Play Store for assistance.
Storage Challenges
Many apps today store large files on the internal SD card, including:
- Games
- Podcasts
- Offline RSS content
- Pictures and videos
- Offline navigation software
Typically, users have limited internal storage (around 16GB), while external SD cards can be significantly larger (ranging from 32GB to 64GB). Unfortunately, most applications downloaded from the Play Store default to saving data on the internal SD card, leading to storage shortages.
Introducing FolderMount
FolderMount provides a solution to this storage dilemma. This app allows users to link folders from their internal SD card to folders on their external SD card, effectively relocating data while preserving access to it. This functionality enables users to:
- Free up internal storage space
- Simultaneously store multiple large games and apps without uninstallation
- For Nexus devices lacking external SD cards, link folders to a USB flash drive
Features of FolderMount
- Mount internal SD card folders to external SD folders.
- Move content from internal to external when a pair is added (prompt dialog included).
- Supports Android versions 2.3 to 6.0.
- Holo themed throughout with an intuitive GUI design.
- Checks SD card mount status and remounts if necessary.
Limitations of the Free App
- Only 3 mount pairs allowed.
- File Explorer does not display folder sizes.
- Some restrictions on the type/path of the source folder.
To unlock these limitations, consider purchasing the pro version directly within the app.
How to Use FolderMount
- Add a folder pair, designating the internal SD card as the source and the external SD card as the destination.
- After adding, FolderMount will prompt you to move the files. Click Yes.
- Wait for the move operation to complete, then click on the PIN. If the PIN turns green, you are all set.
- The files will exist in both the source and destination after mounting, which is normal. If you choose to "unpin" the pair, your internal SD card will appear empty again.
Why Choose FolderMount?
While there are other apps that offer similar functionality, FolderMount is the first to provide support for Android 4.2 with a Holo-themed interface and an easy-to-use design.
