FTP Server Application Overview

A powerful application that allows you to run an FTP Server on your phone, enabling you and your friends to access and share files over the Internet. This application helps you avoid using the USB port on your device, thereby increasing its lifespan. It's commonly referred to as WiFi file transfer or wireless file management.

Application Features

• Utilize any network interfaces on your device, including: WiFi, Ethernet, Tethering, etc.

• User Management: Manage users and access paths for each user. You can delete a user by swiping left/right on that user.

Supported FTP Clients

You can use any FTP clients on Windows, Mac OS, Linux, or even browsers to access this FTP Server, including:

• FileZilla


• Windows Explorer: If the user is not anonymous, please enter the address in the format ftp://username@ip:port/ into Windows Explorer (use the username created in the User Management screen).


• Finder (MAC OS)


• File Manager on Linux OS


• Total Commander (Android)


• Web Browsers: Such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge... can be used in read-only mode.

Passive Ports

The range of passive ports is from the initial port (default 50000) to the next 128 ports if UPnP is enabled, or the next 256 ports if UPnP is disabled. In general:

• 50000 - 50128 if UPnP is enabled


• 50000 - 50256 if UPnP is disabled

From version 0.13.0, the initial port is 60000.

Notices

Doze Mode: The application may not function as expected if Doze mode is activated. Please go to Settings → Search for Doze mode and add this application to the whitelist.

Permissions Needed

• WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Mandatory permission for the FTP Server to access files on your device.


• INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Mandatory permissions to allow user connection to the FTP Server.


• Location (Coarse/Fine location): Required for users wanting to automatically start the server when connected to Wi-Fi on Android P and above.
  
  
  
  • Please read Android P restrictions about getting Wi-Fi connection info here.
  
  
  • For Android Q+: Background location access is required to get Wi-Fi connection info while the application is in the background. Please select "Allow all times" to enable this feature.
